Little Island Press is a New Zealand-based community publisher and social enterprise, founded in 2007 by Tony Murrow and Evotia Tamua. They collectively have over 50 years in South Pacific publishing and photography. Little Island was established to connect people and communities (cultural islands) through books, but now also builds websites and performs many other services both commercially and to support the communities it connects with.
In fact, the Little Island business model is simple: we use profits from commercial and public vendor work to produce books and other content that supports and enriches communities. In this way, organisations can be major contributors to important social impact projects.
Our commercial and public vendor clients include:
- Vodafone New Zealand
- Auckland Council
- British Council NZ
- British Council Thailand
- Auckland University of Technology (AUT)
- NZ Ministry of Health
- Commonwealth Foundation
- Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs
- Auckland University of Technology’s Pacific Media Centre
- University of Auckland
- Greenpeace
- Government of France
- Counties Manukau District Health Board
