Stoneman's work explores etching and relief printmaking processes, often linking our natural world to the human condition. She creates contemporary landscape and figurative works that often reference science, symbols, history, nature and language. Stoneman works for the local district council co-ordinating art projects within seven rural communities.

The concept behind The Menagerie – An Alphabet Book came from reproducing seventeenth century engravings of animals within the ‘100 Days Project’. While I was studying the technique these engravers had employed – their fine lines and textures – a narrative grew from the relationships formed between the creatures and their personalities.
